Derek Provan, Managing Director, Aberdeen Airport

Derek Provan joined BAA in 1998 as a fire-fighter after a spell with the local authority emergency services.

He initially joined Glasgow Airport Fire Service before holding senior management positions running Airfield, Security and Customer Service operations. He then became Airport Operations Director before taking up an interim position as Operations Director at Stansted airport in June 2010.

In September 2010 he began his current post, Managing Director at Aberdeen Airport.

Active in the areas of tourism and transport in the North-east, he holds positions on the NESTRANS board and is vice-chair of the Area Tourism Partnership. He also sits as a committee member of the SCDI to promote business in the region.

He is married with two sons.

Carol Benzie, Operations Director, Aberdeen Airport

Carol Benzie joined Aberdeen Airport in 2008 following a spell of six years spent working with a large local charity who support people with learning disabilities. Before that she spent over ten years in finance with the oil and gas industry.

During her first three years with the company she headed up the finance and commercial departments, and in March 2011 Carol took up her post as Operations Director.

She is on the board of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

Carol is married with two children.

Don Jacobs, Commercial Director, Aberdeen Airport

Don Jacobs joined the airport team in 2011 from DHL Global Mail where he was Managing Director for Switzerland.

Don is multi-lingual and has broad experience in international and cross-cultural project and business management. He has years of experience in sales, marketing, e-commerce, finance, data management and a strong background in operations and customer service across a global customer base. Don has occupied senior management positions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

He is married with twin boys.
