2012 annual passenger total for Aberdeen International

Figures are just out which show that Aberdeen welcomed more than 3.3 million passengers in 2012.
The total annual passenger number for the airport has been officially recorded at 3.36 million, with 525,000 of those being helicopter passengers.
That total beats the previous year total of 3.1 million, and is just marginally below the all-time record passenger number of 3.4 million recorded in 2007.
Managing Director Derek Provan said: “The total for 2012 is very encouraging and we are in discussions with our airlines partners to ensure that we continue to increase capacity on current services and bring new services to the North East.
Data for the month of December alone shows that both domestic and international traffic grew by 7.4% and 5.1% respectively. Total growth for the month was recoded at 2.9% with a recorded 241,749 passengers, compared to the December of the previous year. Helicopter traffic showed a drop of 14.9%.
