New Aberdeen to Barcelona route
Barrhead Travel has announced the launch of an exciting new route from Aberdeen for summer 2013 in addition to their successful Aberdeen to Malaga route.
Scotland's leading independent travel group will operate weekly charter flights to Barcelona between May and October next year, using British Airways aircraft and crew. Departing early morning on Sundays throughout the summer, the aircraft has a generous seat pitch, and a total luggage allowance per person of 25 kg.
Sharon Munro, Chief Executive of Barrhead Travel, said, "We have been successfully operating Aberdeen to Malaga flights for the past two years, and felt there was a demand and need from the people of Aberdeen and the North East to have more choice flying from their local airport. Therefore, we have added direct flights to Barcelona to our summer programme. We'll be the only operator on this route, and our flights are perfect for connecting with cruise departures from Barcelona, as well as for breaks in the city and holidays to the surrounding resorts."
Don Jacobs, Commercial Director of Aberdeen Airport, said, “We are delighted by this announcement from Barrhead Travel. The Barcelona route is an important addition to the airport’s leisure offering, as it came out as one of the preferred destinations from the Holiday Survey Aberdeen Airport conducted at the beginning of this year. We are sure that this news will be welcomed by our passengers”.
