Passenger numbers for March 2014
The latest set of passenger figures are out, marking further growth at Aberdeen International Airport. The number of people using the airport continues to grow, with the March figures showing an increase of 8.2% with 289,193 recorded passengers. The fixed wing operation grew by 7.4% and the helicopter passengers increased by 12.9%.
Carol Benzie, airport Managing Director, said:
“I am pleased to see that our efforts have paid off, allowing us to deliver more growth. There are a lot of exciting things happening at the airport at the moment and the energy that these have created is palpable. We are pressing ahead with work on the terminal redevelopment, we have seen two new air services take off in the last month alone, and we have been working hard on further route development. My team and I spent time in Marseille earlier this week at the foremost European route development conference ‘Routes Europe’, delivering our message about the opportunities that exist here to the wider aviation industry. This message was cemented when the prestigious conference was handed over to Aberdeen, we will play host in 2015. We look forward to welcoming them next year, and work to ensure a smooth delivery of that event is already underway.”
