One-way system on Dyce Drive during sewer works -via Aberdeen City Council
16 May 2013
A one-way system will be in place on a section of Dyce Drive at weekends and on week day evenings from Friday, 17 May, during sewer installation works for the D2 business park.
Some delays are expected during the works and the travelling public is advised to allow extra time for journeys during the one-way system operating hours.
Northbound traffic only will be permitted on Dyce Drive between its junctions with the A96 Inverurie Road and Wellheads Drive from 7pm on Friday evenings until 6am on Monday mornings, until 12 August. A 30mph speed limit will be in place on this stretch of road during the works.
The contractor will be trialling overnight weekday works, beginning at 7pm on Monday, 20 May and running until 6am the following morning, for a week. Further information on this will follow in due course.
An alternative route for southbound vehicles will be available via Dyce Drive, the U53C Chapel of Stoneywood road, and the A96 Inverurie Road; or via Wellheads Drive, Farburn Terrace (restricted headroom of 15ft 6ins), Victoria Street and Stoneywood Road.
The U53C Chapel of Stoneywood road will be open to southbound traffic only between its junctions with the A96 Inverurie Road and the Marshall Trailers access. An alternative route is available via the A96 Inverurie Road and Dyce Drive.
There will be a ban on right-turn manoeuvres from the U53C Chapel of Stoneywood road onto the A96 Inverurie Road. Motorists wishing to travel towards Inverurie can turn back at the A96 Inverurie Road/Dyce Drive roundabout.
A 50mph speed restriction will be enforced on the eastbound carriageway of the A96 Inverurie Road from a point 250 metres west of the U53C Chapel of Stoneywood junction, to the existing 40mph limit on the approach to Bankhead roundabout.
