Recognition for charitable work
03 July 2013
Aberdeen International Airport has been nominated for an award.
The wider airport has been named as a finalist in the “Friend of the Third Sector” category at the Aberdeen Impact Awards, which recognises the work of charities, community groups, and those that support them right across the city.
They are nominated alongside Morven Mackenzie (the organiser of the Celebrate Aberdeen parade) and Rainbow City Taxis for their work with the Shopmobility programme.
In a statement, Sarah Campbell who is the chair of the airport Community Panel said: "This is such an honour. In 2012 we donated around £80,000 to local charities and community groups, as well as providing services for a variety of people to access the airport and to develop individually. We are all delighted to be recognised in this way."
The winner will be announced at a ceremony on the 20th July at the Music Hall.
