Our security teams work around the clock, 365 days a year, to make sure our passengers are safe and get the best possible start to their journey.

As a security officer, you will be involved in screening passengers and staff who work as part of the airport team. This includes searching people and their hand luggage, carrying out vehicle and ID checks, and operating X-ray machines and other equipment. You'll obviously receive full training and, as part of your contract, you'll have to pass the induction course as well as an annual refresher. 

To succeed in security you need to be a good team player, enjoy working with the public and be observant and vigilant. Before you can start work, you will also have to pass the Department for Transport counter terrorist checks, a criminal record check and a full medical examination.
