Parking at Stansted
For security reasons the blue badge scheme does not operate on the Stansted Airport road system. Unattended vehicles will be towed away by the police and a fine must be paid in order to retrieve such vehicles. Traffic wardens also patrol all areas.
Short stay car parks
- Car park prices are displayed clearly at the car park entrances. Further details on car parking options at Stansted.
- Blue badge parking is available in Red, Orange, Green, fast track and and the pick up car parks which are located next to the terminal building.
- Should you require a wheelchair or assistance, a help point is situated in each car park.
- If you wish to park in the blue badge space but need to take your badge abroad, please contact the car park operator via the help button on the entry barrier.
- You can pay for car park tickets at the automatic payment machines located in each car park, before returning to your car. You can also pay by credit card at the exit barrier.

Mid stay parking
The mid stay car park is situated just over a mile from the terminal building, all transfer coaches are free of charge and wheelchair accessible. Please allow at least 20 minutes to transfer to the terminal building.
- Blue Badge parking spaces are situated close to the coach pick up shelters, the shelters also have help points.
- Payment is simple, insert your credit card on entry, use the same credit card on exit and the correct amount will automatically be deducted. A cashier is on duty 24 hours a day should you need assistance.
- On arrival at the terminal the coach driver or forecourt marshal will assist you from the coach. Help phones are situated outside each of the revolving entry doors should you require a wheelchair or assistance.
- On your return, the transfer coach driver or forecourt marshal will assist you onto the coach which will transfer you back to the mid stay car park.
- Mobility scooters up to a maximum of 700mm by 1,200mm are allowed on board the courtesy buses but having manoevred into the wheelchair space passengers will be asked to transfer to a conventional vehicle seat during the journey.
Long stay parking
The long stay car park is situated approximately four miles from the terminal building, all transfer coaches are free of charge and wheelchair accessible. Please allow at least 45 minutes to transfer to the terminal building.
- Blue Badge parking spaces are situated close to the coach pick up shelters in Zone Q. All 130 spaces are of the latest design with safe manoevering areas to the side and rear of the parking bays. Users of these bays will board the transfer buses prior to other passengers and you will also get priority to seats and dedicated wheelchair points on board.
- The shelters also have help points.
- On arrival at the terminal the coach driver or forecourt marshal will assist you from the coach. Help phones are situated outside each of the revolving entry doors should you require a wheelchair or assistance.
- On your return you will find car park payment machines in the international baggage reclaim area, and in the long stay car park. If you require assistance press the help point on the payment machine, or use the help phones outside the terminal's revolving doors.
- The transfer coach driver or forecourt marshal will assist onto the coach which will transfer you back to the long stay car park.
