July Passenger Figures
Latest figures indicate that 348,527 passengers travelled through Aberdeen International Airport in July. Domestic travel was down -5.9% while international passenger figures showed an increase of 1.8% on 2014 levels. Helicopter traffic remained below 2014 levels, at -14.8% for the month.
Carol Benzie, Airport MD said “We report a mixed set of figures this month. We are pleased to see an increase in international traffic on 2014 levels, however domestic and helicopter traffic is trending below those levels, as we continue in the current challenging period for the energy sector”.
Meanwhile the airport has confirmed four local groups have been awarded funding from the latest round of the Airport Community Fund, with donations made to Kintore Football Club, the Aberdeen branch of Alzheimer Scotland, Sunnybank Community Centre’s language scheme and the Fersands and Fountain Youth Project.
