May Passenger Figures

Figures just released indicate that 300,871 passengers travelled through Aberdeen International Airport in May, a decrease of -8.1% compared to last year’s figure. Helicopters saw the biggest decrease, down -13.1% on 2014 levels, whilst fixed wing traffic reduced by -7.2%.
Carol Benzie, Airport MD reflected on the figures and said “We have seen a reduction in traffic across all three sectors, helicopters, international and domestic, last month due to the impact of the cost efficiencies currently being driven throughout the oil and gas sector”.
Meanwhile the airport is gearing up to welcome its first direct Polish route, with Wizz Air flying twice weekly to Gdansk from Aberdeen, launching on 19th June.
