Tui Summer Programme Takes-off
The TUI Summer 2018 flying programme has well and truly taken off at Aberdeen International Airport with seven different European destinations being served by a TUI aircraft based in Aberdeen with 40 crew members recruited from the local area.
Operating a Boeing 737-800 with 189 seats, the flights to Corfu, Dalaman, Ibiza, Gran Canaria, Majorca, Reus and Tenerife are providing a great range of holiday destinations to suit all tastes and proving very popular with residents of the North East.
Karen Switzer,Director of Aviation Planning for TUI UK & Ireland, said:
“We are delighted to be flying more customers on their summer holidays from Aberdeen Airport. This is the first summer programme where TUI Airways will be operating directly out of Aberdeen Airport and now holidaymakers in Scotland have seven destinations to choose from when booking their holidays from Aberdeen.
“We now have an aircraft based at Aberdeen Airport for Summer 2018 along with 40 members of crew. It’s a really exciting place to be and the crew are all looking forward to a busy summer season getting people on their holidays.”
Carol Benzie, Managing Director at Aberdeen International Airport said;
“The response to the TUI summer flight schedule has been very encouraging. Operating with a based aircraft in Aberdeen and being able to recruit crew from the local area provides greater flexibility and the range of destinations have provided more choice for our passengers. We are very much looking forward to the busy months ahead and working closely with TUI as the year progresses”
The future is certainly looking bright following the recent announcement that the tour operator will launch a brand new route to Rhodes in Greece from the airport in 2019.
