Southend Pier and Museum

Visit Southend Pier, one of Southend-on-sea's biggest land-marks and attraction. The pier is the world's second longest pier (2.16km) after Progreso, Yucatán, México, (6.5km), and is renowned for being the longest pleasure pier in the world. The Southend Pier Museum documents a taste of Southend's history and have an original 1890s tram, and three original train carriages. The Southend Pier Museum hosts a large collection of salvaged artefacts that have been restored by volunteers and the Pier Museum Foundation.

Hadleigh Castle

Explore the ruins of the historic Hadleigh Castle and take in the view of the Thames Estruary, in the English countryside. Rich in British history, Hadleigh Castle was built during the reign of Henry III by Hubert de Burgh, providing crucial economic and defensive roles due to the surrounding parkland and field of view. During the Hundred Years War, the castle was extensively refortified by Edward III and became one of the King's favourite residences.

This family fun theme park boasts over 60 rides and attractions, both indoor and outdoor, so you can enjoy the fun regardless of the weather. Adventure Island is also the host of Rage, a unique and daring rollercoaster with a 75ft drop and 360 degree barrel roll, voted the UK's most thrilling rollercoaster by BBC1's Blue Peter. This family funday theme park is open all year round and has various restaurants and snack bars to keep everyone fueled happy.
