Southend Pier and Museum

Rich in British history, Hadleigh Castle was built during the reign of Henry III by Hubert de Burgh, providing crucial economic and defensive roles due to the surrounding parkland and field of view. During the Hundred Years War, the castle was extensively refortified by Edward III and became one of the King's favourite residences.
