Basilica of San Zeno
A triumph of Roman architecture, and dating back to the 9th century, the basilica is perhaps most famous for the tradition that its crypt was the marriage place of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
Located just a few steps from the Verona Arena, La Fontanina has been around for more than 200 years and is a delightful experience for the taste buds. This Michelin-starred restaurant serves the traditional delights that makes Italy so famous amongst foodies, but with a twist. Not sure what to have? Try out one of the tasting menus for the full gastronomic experience.
Basilica di San Zeno Maggoire
The Basilica di San Zeno Maggoire is one of the most interesting churches in Verona. Most of the building was constructed in the 12th century and is characterised by its early Romanesque style. Don’t miss to take a glimpse at the extraordinary bronze panels on the doors which show scenes of the Bible.
Piazza delle Erbe
The Piazza delle Erbe is home to a popular market and is the heart of the city. During the day the market sells mainly souvenirs and clothes; in the evening you should check out the bars and outdoor cafes on the piazza. Also take a look at the beautiful architecture of the buildings.
