airBaltic to resume direct flights from Aberdeen International Airport to Riga in Summer 2026

airBaltic to resume direct flights from Aberdeen International Airport to Riga in Summer 2026

Aberdeen International Airport is pleased to announce that airBaltic will resume its direct service to Riga from June 2026, reconnecting the North East of Scotland with the Latvian capital.

The route will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays until September, offering passengers convenient access to one of Eastern Europe’s most dynamic cities.

Flights will be operated by airBaltic’s modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, known for its spacious seating, offering passengers greater comfort. The aircraft has a range of up to 4,575km and can accommodate up to 149 passengers.

In addition, the airline offers free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet on board and plans to gradually equip its entire fleet with this service.

Chris Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports, commented: "We are thrilled to welcome airBaltic back to Aberdeen International Airport. The return of this direct service to Riga is fantastic news for both leisure and business travellers and further strengthens our connectivity to Eastern Europe. The use of the Airbus A220-300 also reflects our shared commitment to more sustainable aviation."

Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic: “Demand for our services in the United Kingdom continues to grow, and we are pleased to resume direct flights between Aberdeen and Riga for the upcoming summer season.

“This connection will once again provide convenient access between the North East of Scotland and Latvia, while also offering excellent onward connectivity to Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, and Scandinavia.”

The Riga service will provide travellers with access to Latvia’s rich cultural heritage, stunning architecture, and thriving business environment. It also offers onward connections to airBaltic’s extensive network across Europe and beyond.
