- Affordable Dayrider ticket offers outstanding value at just £5.80 for travel between Union Square and Aberdeen International Airport
- New Doric-inspired signage and continued support for Aberdeen International Airport’s popular Runway Run strengthen local partnership
Stagecoach has unveiled a major refresh of its popular 727 service, creating Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire’s first continuous 24/7 cross City-Shire bus route.
The revised Service 727 will now operate around the clock, seven days a week, connecting Portlethen, Aberdeen city centre and Aberdeen International Airport with more frequent, reliable and accessible journeys for customers.
The enhanced service offers exceptional value for money, with passengers able to travel between Union Square Bus Station and Aberdeen International Airport for just £5.80 using a Stagecoach Dayrider ticket.
At around six-and-a-half miles, the journey represents a significantly more affordable option compared with equivalent taxi fares, while also helping customers avoid the added cost of airport parking.
As part of the refreshed partnership with Aberdeen International Airport, new signage has also been installed at key customer touchpoints, including Doric-themed messaging at the bus stop featuring the phrase “Faar ye gaan?” alongside new information displays at the airport baggage carousel highlighting the value and convenience of the 727 service for arriving passengers.

Stagecoach North Scotland will also continue its support for Aberdeen International Airport’s hugely popular Runway Run event on 20 June 2026. The unique event gives participants the rare opportunity to experience the airport runway on foot and regularly raises significant funds for local charities.
William Mainus, Commercial Director for Stagecoach North Scotland, said: “We’re proud of the friendship we’ve built with Aberdeen International Airport and the new signage combined with the increased frequency of bus services on the 727 route means that relationship will go from strength to strength.
“We believe the value our 727 service provides for customers is phenomenal and we fully expect more visitors and locals to take full advantage of the Dayrider passes.
“This is all part of our Roadmap to Recovery – providing reliable, affordable and accessible bus services for the communities we serve in Aberdeenshire and beyond.”
Robert Paterson, Operations Director at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “We’re delighted to see the refreshed 727 service launch as a true 24/7 connection between the city, shire and Aberdeen International Airport. This enhanced service gives passengers a sustainable alternative, whether they’re heading off on an early morning flight or arriving back in the city late at night.
“Our strong partnership with Stagecoach continues to deliver real benefits for customers, and the new Doric-inspired signage is a fantastic way to showcase local character while helping people make informed travel choices.”
