ABZ Propeller Fund at Aberdeen International Airport opens for 2026 applications with £20,000 available

ABZ Propeller Fund at Aberdeen International Airport opens for 2026 applications with £20,000 available

Aberdeen International Airport has announced that the ABZ Propeller Fund is now open for submissions for 2026, with £20,000 of funding available to support community projects across the north-east.

The fund, which focuses on education, sustainability, and economic regeneration, has become a source of support for local charities, community groups and grassroots organisations in the North-East.

Since its relaunch in 2022, the ABZ Propeller Fund has distributed more than £120,000 to 95 organisations, helping bring various initiatives to life.

Last year, 21 groups were supported including sport organisations, charities and scout groups

Bruce Watson, Chairman of the ABZ Propeller Fund, said: “We’re delighted to open the fund once again for 2026. Every year we see incredible ideas submitted by groups across the region, and it’s a privilege to support projects that enrich our communities.

“This year, £20,000 is available to help organisations get their initiatives off the ground, and we encourage anyone with a project aligned to our priorities to apply.”

Cllr Alan Turner, chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Infrastructure Services Committee, added: “The ABZ Propeller Fund continues to play a vital role in strengthening communities across Aberdeenshire.

“By supporting organisations and charities which are enhancing local services, expanding opportunities and driving sustainable growth, the fund remains a significant contributor to the region’s long‑term community development. I would encourage groups from across the area to apply and bring forward projects which will make a lasting positive impact.”

Jackie Dunbar Aberdeen Donside MSP and member of the Propeller Fund, said:

“ABZ Propeller Fund is a fantastic opportunity for local groups or charities to access funds to make a positive difference in their community.

“I would encourage organisations to consider applying for a grant from the £20,000 fund available for 2026.”

The ABZ Propeller Fund is open to applications from community-focused groups and organisations in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire working in areas of education, sustainability and economic regeneration.

Organisations wishing to apply are encouraged to review the fund’s guidelines and submit their applications early. Full details, including eligibility criteria and submission deadlines, can be found at Aberdeen Airport Propeller Fund | Aberdeen Airport
